I hold this song dear to my heart. It was prominently featured at my father's service, as he was an avid photographer who shot thousands of rolls of 35mm Kodachrome in his time.

I think it would be fair to say that about just about any Paul Simon song ever, he`s one of the few singer/songwriters who just never seems to have recorded a lemon, or anything even close to one....but, yes, this is one of the best of a great crop.

I was hunched over in tiny space, in the back of a Vega hatchback w/the backs seats down, surrounded by all our worldly goods, w/no air conditioning. The front windows were rolled down, back ones only opened a crack. My stepdad was driving up the coast of CA looking for work and I was singing from a magazine of popular song lyrics to pass the time. I particularly remember this song. It was the summer before 7th grade. It felt rebellious to sing this! It was a high feeling! Grown-ups be damned!

Thanks for looking that up, although it's irrelevant.
Digital photography has been in the pipeline since the invention of television.
Pictures of the surface of the moon were beamed back to earth in the
1960's. That's history. Paul Simon's song was released in the early 1970's.

Firstly, there was more than one moon landing - also, the first one took place in 1969, not 1961.

When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school
It's a wonder I can think at all
And though my lack of education hasn't hurt me none
I can read the writing on the wall
Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away
If you took all the girls I knew when I was single
And brought them all together for one night
I know they'd never match my sweet imagination
Everything looks worse in black and white
Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome
Mama don't take my Kodachrome
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome
Leave your boy so far from home
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome
Uhm uhm!
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
O.K.! Less
