I just purchased a Joomla 1.7 template from Template Monster. With the help of their technical team, we discovered that in order for you to be able to see all of the modules and design layout, the code in the dump.sql file needs to match the prefix in the Administration Screen seen here: Site>Global Configuration>Server: Database Settings: Database Tables Prefix. It's simply a matter of replacing some code with what you see in that prefix box and reuploading the dump.sql file to phyMyAdmin.

i think joomla 1.7 got released too soon. it sucks. Doesn't feed the front end right away. tweets and facebook doesn't work. bugs bugs bugs. i think they need to clean it up.
