It varies. You might get a good copy. I got a pretty bad copy. But it still takes great picture in most situation. The good news is, Fuji is almost done with the promised new sensor that should fix this problem. You can go to DPReview for the comparison before and after shots. You can look at my profile on Flickr to see some pics with and without orbs.

What do you think about the issue of "white disc effect" of this camera? When you shoot light with dark background.
guffygolfer Says:
You made up my mind. After researching every confounded mirrorless camera out there I gonna get this one as my walk around street camera. Thanks, Mark

Aaaaaaaaand as soon as he mentions the tripod he shows this is not a real review but simply a commercial.

Nicely done. I am getting the X10 later today. Excited!
mcatuara1 Says:
I agree.
gecmartins Says:
That's a fair comparison, but in some sense it is the same as comparing apples to bananas. With this camera, you are paying an extra to have quite a bit of a dslr into a considerably smaller body.
jzorns Says:
Nice job. So many guys just seem like they're reading the spec sheet and haven't shot the camera extensively, but you pointed out the high AND low points. It's a shame about the viewfinder; there's not much point it shaping it like a Leica M if one can't use the viewfinder. May as well be brick-shaped, just like the rest of them. ;)

Great review! Thinking of getting this camera and watching this video really gives me a better understanding of its features and benefits.

Please answer me Sir Mark :) So do you recommend this for street photography? please thanks
rvdw98 Says:
Why is it that every time someone refers to a lens as being "4 ex", it makes me feel like they're reading a spec sheet verbatim without understanding the underlying concepts? It's akin to mentioning a "2-slash-3 double-quote sensor" or an "8-on-its-side maximum focus distance".
mcatuara1 Says:
I can get a D5000 for that price...($600)
mbastos1000 Says:
It would be a perfect pocket camera if the optical viewfinder were accurate or near to it... WHY THEY DO DO A FULL JOB?
Snakekilla12 Says:
get a T3i....
FrodoDojo Says:
A lot of peeps complain about the x100 focus; have you had any problems?
robhkycc Says:
how about a head-to-head comparison of this vs. the Canon G12?
dweston67 Says:
can someone explain how this is a compact camera. With the lens always making the footprint bigger, I'm not sure how to easily carry it other than a bag or strap. Not very compact in my mind.
1jbunceiii Says:
I might have missed it.... stereo microphone or not?
scrubbieslider Says:
Great review Mark, as always!
ikaikaarnado Says:
I disagree that the viewfinder is worthless. You have to adjust for the parallax, which is the issue for every rangefinder type camera. Once you figure it out it is simple.
MrFernuti Says:
I bought the X100 over the X10 ;)
Uscbryan949 Says:
I think it's target market may be a little above beginner given the price. It does have a few scene modes but even prosumer cameras have those, just not as many. I think this camera probably can hit all different market levels. I wouldn't be surprised if some pros carry it when they don't want to lug their DSLR. It's a very cool looking camera as well.
brandonbush1 Says:
Neat. Even though its got a lot of manual control, it seems to be geared towards the beginner with such a big emphasis on the scene modes. But I wonder why they used up so much real estate on the top with a huge exposure comp dial? I can think of a bunch of things I'd rather have up there, plus is the target market going to use that very much anyway?
