I have a vm60p that was given to me free today. It was sold to them by best buy. It started turning off they said so best buy eventually replaced it. I got it home, removed rear panels because it was dead. Found a wire harness loose and plugged it in. Tv turned on, watched movie for 2hrs. Started turning off then on randomly when I put the back panels on. What could this be? Runs till heat builds up obviously. Please help???? DN

I have a VIZIO VO320E. The screen went blank. No prior problems and a good picture before. It still has sound and can change channels. How can I repair it? Is it a capacitor problem?
Rebel25A Says:
I replaced the capacitors yesterday, the TV powered right up, was on about 15 minutes and one capacitor blew, then about 5 minutes later the second blew, the TV was turned off and on several times with no problem but now is dead again and the tops are blown out like the previous set, I installed the same 10amp, 3300 105c type that was in it, any suggestions, bad solder joints maybe, something else, it ran for many many hours after they popped but went back out this morning

Just called Vizio, the tech support number, 877-698-4946, and they emailed me a "release", and they are sending the proper parts for free, but its up to us to repair it. Or, they will send a repair guy to your home to do it for $125. Wait, new email this moment...they are sending the entire board with capacitors on it for free...!

Hey how did you get the back panel off!!
jimhale777 Says:
Thanks for the advice. I already ordered the bulk of the caps from a repwir kit on eBay. I was only missing a 470 uF 10v., which I picked up from Radio Shack. Replaced them all and had it up and running in under an hour, thanks largely to your video. THANKS!!!
beast6228 Says:
Panasonic caps are a good choice
jimhale777 Says:
Thanks. I need to replace a 470 uF that was not included in the eBay VP322 repair pack. (It was outside of the red box.) What's a good brand? I'm assuming the ones Vizio chose were no so great. I think I'll also go up one voltage rating level and use the 105C rated ones. Thanks again!
WizzoPro9476 Says:
I got a Vizio of the same type. It works fine and at random times, it cuts off, like the screen is the problem, the "VIZIO" is white for about 3 minutes, and it shuts of to its orange. I saw two domed capacitors and replaced them with axial lead capacitors. It has the same problem.
beast6228 Says:
assorted? I don't know of many places that do that anymore, but Radio shack used to at one time. As far parts go, digikey (dot com) or mouser (dot com) are probably two of the best places to get parts.
jimhale777 Says:
Stupid Q: Where is the best online place to get assorted capacitors, etc. Thanks!
1191shannon Says:
Do you think I could just buy the part on ebay, a new board? So I won't take the chance of ruining anything with soldering? Would a main board work? Thanks for your help :)
beast6228 Says:
Desoldering iron, you have to heat up the solder on the backside of the circuit board and suck the solder off, it will then come loose. On a capacitor there is a plus side and negative side..make note removing the capacitor and replace it in the same fashion at it was removed. If you mess that up, you will end up ruining the board.
1191shannon Says:
how do we replace the capacitors? If I have never done any kind of electronic repairs will I be able to do this or should i take it somewhere to get fixed
seume Says:
on my power supply board the 470 uf are 25v not 10v beacause I had 2 3300 uf 10v and 2 470 uf 25v bulging.
steveblunts Says:
Ok so i check my Vizio and same problem as yours BEAST6228 , Now my second problem is how do i figure out what kind of capacitors they are for ordering? Please help
MasterNatetor Says:
I again thank you!!! Been much more help than some forums I have been to!
beast6228 Says:
They differ from model to model, but go to google and search for Vizio zsus board in image search and it should bring up a photo. Once you find it, look for a model number on the board and begin your search for that exact board. Just a fair warning you might not find one, you might also want to think about how much the parts cost before you actually buy a replacement. If for some reason you start buying parts and they don't work, you're out of money, they don't return parts.
MasterNatetor Says:
Thank you! And yes, after it has been on a while. I checked all capacitors, and they all seem fine by me. Also, if you don't mind, which one is the ZSUS board? Thanks again for your info! Greatly appreciated!!!
