I'm having a bit of a...quite visual issue with my Vizio. Can you see it? Yeah, I talk all about it in this video, hopefully not to anyone's discontent, but if anyone has any advice or ideas as to what caused it or why I am always cursed to have a broken HDTV...I'm open to suggestions! :D More

Actually, it's since gone away for the most part. I mean, it keeps coming back (and probably will continue to do so for as long as the TV lasts), but the line is actually gone more often than it comes back. When it does come back, it more often is only one thin and almost impossible to see green line. I have some doubts that towels would do anything, but leaving it on (mostly because I didn't care if it was already screwed up) definitely helped.

I'm tellin' ya, man -- I did the research. What once was true with CRT brands is no longer true with HDTVs. Samsung, Sony, obviously always top of the line -- but Philips used to be top of the line, too. Now Philips HDTVs are some of the worst you can get. It's a brand new day, and Vizios actually tend to lead the pack.

LOL. ok, whatever.

Vizio is actually one of the top 5 brands of HDTV. It might be a cheap brand, but it's also one of the best, hence why I bought it.
leightonhs Says:
that's what you get for buying cheap ass brands...

Hate to sound like an infomercial, but i buy online warranties for electronics more than $500 from square trade and not have to worry about losing paperwork. Its cheaper than the brand name warrantys, but the same coverage. Should check it out on future purchases. Sorry about the technical difficulties.

GOD this guy's an idiot........ no seriously, I doubt that the 1080P would hurt it. If it wasn't supposed to do it, they wouldn't put the feature in. I do that with my kids 26" vizio Razor LED.

Hey bro I work for Target in the electronics department and I always tell people that TV's and other things do break down and go out. And for that size Vizio I think that the two year service plan is only like twenty nine dollars. Only thing is that you must hang on to the papers they give you. It should also come with a sticker that you place on the back of the TV that has the phone number and serial number handy.
Stoudman Says:
Yeah, but like I said it's not the end of the world. I've just been watching a lot of DVDs on my new laptop instead. :P
Stoudman Says:
Well there's yer problem right thurr, man....you're getting warranties from stores that close down! I buy warranties from places like Target and Wal-mart because...they never go away! :D They're also a lot cheaper than other stores.
Stoudman Says:
Ooohh, okay. Yeah, I was wondering about that. I was just worried that trying to use the TV for something it wasn't meant for was screwing it up. I know that at least on Sony's end when you do that it can screw up gameplay -- sometimes the image of the game won't even come on screen. Not sure why, but I tested my theory on this and...yeah...that's what was happening. In 1080p on a 1080i TV the game would play sound but no image. Back to 1080i? Game plays perfectly. Go figure.

Well my first HDTV just had a lot of power supply issues in addition to screen issues. Not sure what it is with me and HDTVs, but they....don 't like me?

@BookhouseBoy77 Another good reason to get the warranty If it breaks down 3 years after you get it, by then the prices will have dropped and you can get a better TV if they decide not to fix it.
smeckaldorf Says:
i told you vizios are awesome lol even when they fuck up they don't fuck up mega hard just NICELY mess up lol XD i like limited lifetime warranty for one reason....BEING ABLE TO RMA the product for a replacement :D ... any who that sucks dude
oneron04 Says:
I hate warranties, why? because when I got a warranty for my Wii through GameCrazy, they closed down. When I got a warranty for my mattress through Mattress King, they closed down. In my judgment, if I take very good care of my stuff then there would be no need for the warranties, and besides, by the time I would need repairs the warranty would have been expired already.
buffdaddybill Says:
I don't think its your fault, as with Vizio it just identifies the source resolution but it will only display what your TV is made for. So if you are playing a 1080p game on PS3 it will recognize 1080p but you will still see it in 1080i. At least that's what the Vizio representative told me when I asked him "How do I get a 1080p when all I bought was a 720p?"
Zaranyzerak Says:
YOU MANIAC!!! YOU BLEW IT UP!!!! Man, it's like I passed on the curse to you or something... First all my shit breaks or fucks up in some way, now all your shit is breaking or fucking up in some way... WHEEEE!!!! Yeah, find that warranty thingie. Maybe they'll upgrade you to a 27".
