Surprise surprise - Nikon will be using the new SONY XQD card format in their D4 - just another example of how SONY are taking Nikon over one piece at a time.... Nikon V1 & J1 were designed without help from SONY and look how bad they are. Sorry Nikon you've lost the plot!

@BigRooster747 I got a X100....Never gonna sell it. I sold my 5Dmk2 and 6 L lenses and got the X100 and the leather case. And I dont regret it. Ofcourse its a complete other camera, but the quality of the pic are amazing, and the lowlight capability, likewize. Best regards. Bo

hi Dave, always appreciate your reviews. It does daunt on me concerning these slowly unfolding & expandable lens bodies that are now inevitable to compact cameras since its becoming obvious, one wants to have the full Monty or be seen as without the best on the shelf... that said, and esp looking at the creeping price tag, the compactness is evolving back to the bulky situation. One can't hide them to stay discrete anymore isn't it? This is where it gets 2B discouraging esp. for O2 concerts :(

The only thing that stops me from getting devices that are the first to include these awesome features is that another manufacturer will do it better. Look at the Motorola Xoom. The first to use Android 3.0 Honeycomb but then we get better tablets like the Asus eee pad transformer that has pretty much the same features but does it alot better. Still nice looking camera.

Both V1 and J1 look like "dead on arrival" products to me: just a plain missed opportunity for at least two reasons. First, why a 2.7 crop factor sensor when everybody else is trying to cram the widest possible sensor into the tiniest possible body? Second, why not using an F mount in the first place, rather than forcing people to buy an adaptor and leave them wondering if autofocus will still work?
