they are both crap D800/D4 considering the amount of money youre paying for and are already having issues with leftpoint AF in both and lockup issues. Hope the d800 is also not plagued with the d700 hotshoe problem aswell which nikon didn't acknowledge. Nikon should pull their finger out of their arse because fair enough it all looks good on paper but product quality should reflect on the price we customers pay and we are not getting that! WAKE UP!!

nikons quality control must'nt be too good charging a hefty price for their dslr's with left field focus point and viewfinder issues, not to mention lock up. I'd be very very ticked off if I payed over 3k even still 7k for a dslr with the mentioned issues and i hope there is a fix for the poor buggers who have already laid their money down. Hmmm, the world of capitalism.

You're not considering CG Artists who Photograph Textures everywhere to use as really high res maps, I've used up to 20000 x 10000 Photos to use either as Textures or HDRI Maps... So dont underestimate needs.

Canon has managed all this time with out it and look what it produced ? Nikon doesn't record as good as canon ,that's what's important!? The 36 mp is also I gimmick ? Why in the world would any one need that? Even in poster size print 22 mp & 36 mp no one will see the difference ? So why would a regular consumer or a pro need ? Is Nikon really that desperate? I think the canon 5d mark III would be a very sought after camera I like the ergonomics of nikon pro bodies but canon have delivered a camera which is very versatile and will suit many shooters.100% viewfinder, dual card slots, 6fps, 61AF points, 1080P VID (canon does better than nikon)...Why nikon cannot come up with a camera like this baffles me because my life would be fulfilled and i would never need to upgrade or ditch a camera like the 5d mark III. Nikon and I = Love hate relationship

with the strong aussie dollar, (buying power) begs the question : why are we still paying more than what they get it for in the US? I may aswell fly to the US have a bit of a holiday and come back with a D800 or D4 and still be financially better off! Australia = BIGGEST RIP OFF COUNTRY!
